COMMUNICATION

- Listening skill
- Speaking skill

Listening Skill:
Listening is the main component in the process of communication. Only when one listens to others we can respond. The listening capacity starts as soon as a baby is born. The baby first identifies the sound around through hearing the voice and sound.
Main aim of communication is to get what we want. We want to make out to the world that we exist and these are our needs. The first skill of language learning is listening.
The baby cries aloud for it's hunger. The hunger makes one to communicate.
As this process of crying goes on so does the process of listening. Listening is coloured with the enhancement of other skills attached to it. They are observation and learning.
Speaking:
Learning starts and the baby starts to immitate others. Then comes repeating words, sentences and context. Speaking ability varies from child to child and family to family. The environment and culture brings in the dialect as well. Speaking skill works in combination with the listening skill.
How do we respond in a conversation?
We listen to the speaker and we respond. Therefore these two skills work together. We need to know the context to respond. This contextual learning is possible with these two SENSES.
Speaking involves audisity, clarity and other technical aspects.
Reading:
Reading is the next level of communication. Reading is the next level of learning to listening and speaking. As the age of learning advances in language so do the skills develop in the process of communication. Reading involves understanding the written language words and context.
Writing:
Writing skill is the final skill of mastering a language. This involves the enhancement of vocabulary, language grammar, context and so on.
Thus these four skills is needed to learn and master in a language.
